Friday Vlog: Working in the Studio, Baby Shower Games, & Movies with Friends!

As it turns out my vlog DID finish uploading and I just didn't realize it was set on "private". Whoops! I was going to post it tomorrow but I'll be busy all day, so you can just see it tonight!
PLEASE let me know if you're enjoying these and if you want to see more!!!! I have another vlog from the zoo and picnic with my friend Caitie, and one from an art museum and shopping with Rachel and our friend Lydia that I can post if you guys like this one!

Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy!

Here We Go Again

Good afternoon! So I'm so sorry but I accidentally shut my laptop last night while my vlog was uploading and "cancelled" the upload. I'm re uploading it now so it should be up maybe tonight and definitely by tomorrow!

So I wasn't kidding when I said I'll be wearing spring skirts with black tights to pass the time. It really works because it feeds my need to wear springy/colorful stuff, but also my greater need to not be freezing. Win-win.

Also... I swear I forget every week that I teach Sunday school to the little kids (I've been doing it for a month, whoops), and every week I unfortunately wear a fitted pencil skirt. At least I was on time this week. (purely by luck, but they don't need to know that)

Oh yes that blurry hand though. Where can I sign up to go profesh?!?!? ;)

(I don't know what happened with the grain in the far away shots. It's like it just gave up on me.)

Transitioning Predicaments

Does anyone else feel like this weather is impossible!?!? *Technically* it's spring, but most days it feels like winter. I already made the decision to pull out all of my spring clothes and put away my winter ones a few weeks back, so there's no going back now. It's going to be springy skirts and black tights until this weather gets it's act together.

I wore this outfit to my pastor's wife's baby shower friday (friday vlog coming tomorrow!) and must admit I picked this skirt almost solely on the fact that my mom ordered hot pink cupcakes for the shower. Gotta match the food ya know?

Thursday Vlog

Hey guyssss! So I decided I'd try out vlogging this weekend, starting with last night! I'll hopefully be showing you more of me working and hanging out with friends and getting ready for events, so subscribe and follow! I'd love to know if you have any video requests or questions you want me to answer or specific things you want me to show you. Let me know in the comments!

This vlog is from Thursday night and it includes: A Shake it Off sing along, chasing a dog through a neighborhoood at night, and almost accidentally talking a road trip across the state.

Enjoy!

(I promise I'll have more outfit posts next week!)

Circus

When your best friends call you and say they have extra tickets for the circus... do not hesitate. Go and wear a skirt that looks like a circus tent and eat lots of popcorn and discuss how you could turn their farm into a circus. (I'd be the lion tamer, but I'd use smaller house cats)

So despite the fact that, yes, the rest of the hundreds of people were wearing hoodies and jeans... I don't think that should ever stop you from wearing what you want. Rock that skirt and wedges and sparkly necklace to the circus. You won't regret it in 60 years, and if you keep it up you'll be "that cool old lady" that wears 4" wedges. Nevermind maybe that's not safe.
(although I did change into boots at the last minute because I realized it was only 50-something degrees)
I'm rambling now, so I'll stop. Deepest apologies for not posting last week. I've been super busy and my sister's (photographer) boyfriend is in town, so we haven't done any actual shoots yet. At least you got to see more of the studio! Hahahaha! I promise it will be better next week.

Popcorn is a must at any event or even at 2 am when you just need something salty for that sad chick flick you're watching. Anyway...

Definitely almost got smacked in the face with that thing a few times, but she's so cute it's worth it. Plus she kept telling me she liked my outfit.

I did NOT have a chocolate chip cookie stuffed soft pretzel for lunch! Ok, fine... but can you blame me? Wednesday Rach and her boyfriend Tim decided we all needed to watch the Batman trilogy because we (Rach and I) hadn't seen it yet. We sat in front of the tv for almost 9 hours only taking breaks to go to the library and make these. (Well they made them... I just ate them) They are seriously the perfect blend of salty and sweet and I'm obsessed. Here's the recipe so you can make your own!

It even looks like a pretzel :')

Oh and those movies are amazing and Heath Ledger's acting is out of this world and I screamed and cried and I highly recommend.

Spring Florals

So today I get to introduce you to my all time favorite skirt that I haven't made!!!! (Coming from a girl who has over 60 skirts... it's a big deal) I've had this beauty for about 3 years and I only paid $10 for it. It's floral AND scalloped and basically represents all things spring to me. Some people worry about getting that perfect bathing suit bod... but I just want to fit into this skirt for as many years as I can. It keeps me from only eating 3 donuts instead of 4. A difficult sacrifice, but worth it.

Plus it completely covers my knees which is SO hard to find in a pencil skirt.

Oscar Party

So I realized I totally forgot to tell you about/post about the Oscar party I went to a few weeks back!!!
I look so forward to this every year and love seeing all my friends in gowns and bow ties. :') (plus I love any excuse to wear a hot pink 50's cocktail dress)

So here's the dress I wore and it's vintage and I'm pretty sure if I believed in reincarnation (definitely don't) I would be re incarnated into this dress.

I got it for $30 (THIRTY DOLLAS) in November, but never found the right occasion to wear it until this February evening.

Phew doesn't the studio look on point? I'm sure it's never seen a better day.

Selfie ft. ironing board and pink bowl that totes matches my dress.

Ok so here are some pics from the parties photobooth!

Sister's in vintage. Yes, yes.

Some of my bestest friends. (Keep your eye on these guys cause I have a great photo of their photobooth stunt at the end.)

This photo speaks for itself.

Best friends :')

Ok so back to that photo I promised.
Jesse and Skyler decided we needed to recreate this photo from last year...

...but make it better and more impressive. (everyone sigh... *guys*)

Rachel and I aren't to be seen in the new version cause we weren't feeling like breaking our necks.
